The Head of the Ohio represents the beginning of our racing season with an exciting 5km race down our home course of the Alleghany River.

Beginning at Washington's Crossing, competitors race down the heart of downtown Pittsburgh, welcomed by spectators around the city. Alumni of the Tartan Crew also convene at this race from far and wide to reconnect with the team and enjoy the thrill of racing!

The most prestigious head race in the United States south of Boston, the Tartan Crew can always expect fierce competition at one of the oldest and most well-loved regattas in history.

Located on the historical course of the Schuylkill River near Philadelphia, PA, top-tier crews from far and wide-- including Drexel, Penn, Temple, and the U.S. Navy-- duke it out on a twisting riverfront spectated by thousands.

Located amid lush forests and breathtaking scenery amid Sandy Run Regional Park, VA, the Head of the Occoquan regatta coincides with the full arrival of fall, and represents the end of our fall racing season.

Falling leaves grace the landscape of intense boat racing next to limestone shores, as crews fight against  to get past a near 90-degree bend, and earn medals adorning the same golden leaves they raced with.
